Danase to Wet Glaze Finish Care
Wet Glaze History
Wet Glaze is our flagship product and what we're known for
Wet Glaze was originally distributed by Bob and Brad of Danase Detailing Supply. The name DANASE was a hybrid of their last names in one word. Danase Wet Glaze (DWG) quickly gained traction as a top glaze in the industry for it's ease of use and ability to be layered. In addition to that, the wet look and slickness it left behind were revered by it's users.
Brad ended up leaving the company and Bob continued to operate Danase Detailing Supply on his own. Bob offered a full line of car care products but his Wet Glaze was by far the flagship product of the brand. After several years, Bob decided to discontinue Danase Detailing Supply for personal reasons. This lead to The Detail Shoppe becoming the new source for Wet Glaze.
Danase Detailing Supply added a logo to the brand a year before closing its doors. The Wet Glaze label was also updated although the Wet Glaze in the bottle was the same original formula.
The Detail Shoppe Begins Producing Wet Glaze
The Detail Shoppe (TDS) was a distributor of detailing supplies ranging from global car care brands to smaller boutique brands. TDS was on it's way to reformulating what would become Wet Glaze 2.0. This was done to achieve more wetness, gloss, and depth. The new Wet Glaze had also increased the surface slickness and overall longevity.
The formulation change of Wet Glaze was well received by users all over the world who loved its ease of use and increased wet look. At the time, users took to the detailing discussion forums to learn, educate, show off their detailing skills, and review their favorite products. Wet Glaze was one of those products. Members would connect with peers and have in depth discussions about technique and product usage. Some of the "write-ups" and story telling were amazing. Social media has taken over as the forums aren't widely used anymore, but you can still find plenty of info on Wet Glaze and Wet Glaze 2.0 if you search.
After years of distributorship in North America, Europe, and Asia, TDS sold most of its assets and Wet Glaze 2.0 went subterranean. Despite the perceived hiatus, Wet Glaze 2.0 is now under the direction of Wet Glaze Finish Care.
